OVERCOMING SERIES
THE MAIN BATTLE IS ALREADY WON , BUT WE HAVE TO KEEP FIGHTING IT THROUGH TO OUR FINAL VICTORY!
PART 2: MOVING FORWARD VICTORY IN HAND
These things just keep coming and the more and more I meditate on these verses and think about how blessed we are, those who
know Jesus, and love Him, and have an experiential relationship with God, the more blessed I get. So I listed some verses
here from the King James Version of the Bible. You can get the same thing from almost any version, like the Amplified or the
Good News, two other versions I use.
I just used the KJV here because when I do a Bible search, this is the best way to search for a verse, then if you have a
question you can check other translations, and whatever, but I think it says it pretty good here in these verses.
1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our
faith.
1Jo 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Here it is talking about overcoming the world. It is talking about how to have victory in your life. The first step to having
a victorious life is to believe in Jesus. I don't just mean asking Him into your heart. That was added to the church much
later as the sinner's prayer.
I am referring to having real faith in the name of Jesus. Jesus is the only way we can get to the Father, and only through
praying in the name of Jesus can we have access to the father. Those who have been born again have this access to their Father.
Isn't that awesome? You can go directly to God the Father now, and communicate with the Holy Spirit too. We can directly
worship and fellowship with all three members of the Godhead, if you believe in Jesus and have been born again.
That is the first step to overcoming and a victorious life. Unswerving faith in Jesus.
Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat
of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
If we are His sheep we will hear the voice of the Spirit, and what is being said here, that Jesus personally will escort us
to the tree of life, that is in the middle of the paradise of God, and hand the fruit to us. What is that tree of life? what
is this symbolic of? Jesus referred to trees often. In the two parables of the mustard seed, the fig tree, olive trees, etc.
Jesus said " I am the vine" (or grape tree) and you are the branches" So who is the tree of life? Jesus is. In John 6 He said
to "eat my flesh and drink my blood" which is the extreme apocalyptic, symbolic language Jesus often spoke in.
This simply means to have faith and trust in Him wholly, with all your heart.
That is overcoming. That is victory.
Rev 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of
the second death.
Those who believe in Jesus have already overcome, and they have eternal life, eternal relationship with God, so the second
death will not hurt us.
Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to
eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving
he that receiveth [it].
We who believe and have received Jesus and are born again by the work of the Holy Spirit have already overcome.
We will receive the hidden manna, which means the spiritual nourishment, inspiration, encouragement, strength, and enlightenment
which we have not yet seen. More revelation knowledge of the Word than you have ever had.
Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
Jesus promised power over the nations, to those who believe. That's overcoming.
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of
life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
You mean there is a possibility for our names to be blotted out of the book of life? I prefer to understand this in the contaxt
of what "overcometh" means. The meaning given in 1Jo 5:5 : Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that
Jesus is the Son of God?
So this is talking about the saved. Apparently everyone's name is written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world.
We were all written in there, and this is the predestination the Bible talks about. Being predestinated doesn't mean your
whole future is already decided and there is nothing you can do about it.
All predestinated means is that you are earmarked for something. You have a destiny, but it is up to you to see it through.
It is the choice of every person to receive Jesus or not.
Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon
him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from
my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name.
This is also talking about the saved who believe in and receive jesus as their savior. All the saved will become pillars in
God's temple, and He will write upon them the name of the Father, and the name of His city, new Jerusalem, which comes down
from heaven from God.
Here Jesus is saying that New Jerusalem cometh, or "comes" down from heaven. It comes, not is coming. Another version, the
amplified bible says "which descends from My God out of heaven".
Maybe this means that New Jerusalem already descends down from heaven for those who are already saved and born again, new
creatures in Christ, and that this is not an isolated event sometime in the distant future. Later on John actually sees it
descending. He is there witnessing it with his own two eyes, in the Spirit. So to John, who is writing this, it has already
happened to him in the spirit and he is a witness of it.
John witnessed it, he did not say it was going to happen in the distant future, but that it WAS happening right then and he
was witnessing it. That is very untraditional , I know. But it is true that according to the wording here that is what it
would mean. In other words, there was no future tense intended here. It says "I saw" past tense. So you can believe what you
want to believe. I believe we already have it , and it is here in the Spirit all around us, and we are able to communicate
with New Jerusalem, and God who is in it.
There are many other scriptures I can give on this but not right here, but later.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my
Father in his throne.
Jesus will grant us the privilege of sitting with Him in His throne, the same way He overcame. That means His resurrection.
We will be resurrected the same way he was, and also raised from the dead in our grand finale overcoming death! In fact we
already are sitting there by faith. we are already Kings and Priests unto God!
Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
They that receive and believe in Jesus and put their faith in Him will inherit all things. We already have it. It is already
ours. Paul prayed in Ephesians that everything the Ephesian church had in the Spirit they will manifest in the flesh. We already
have these things. We are just on a progressive journey to learn how to apply them, how to bring them from our spirits into
our flesh.
Healing is one of those things we already have in our born again spirits. we just need to learn how to get it out into our
flesh. That is where faith comes in. Faith is our positive response to what God has already done through Jesus.
2Sa 23:10 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought
a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
Will you fight the good fight of faith until your hands are weary and it sticks to your sword? If you do the Lord will win
a great victory in your life, because you already have that victory through Jesus dying on the cross.
2Sa 23:12 But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great
victory.
Will you defend your faith standing your ground and defending it?
The rest are good to read and meditate on, as they will give you the vision to be victorious in whatever you are doing for
the Lord.
Psa 98:1 [[A Psalm.]] O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm,
hath gotten him the victory.
Isa 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of
his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken [it].
Mat 12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
1Cr 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall
be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Cr 15:55 O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory?
1Cr 15:57 But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our
faith.
Rev 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over
his image, and over his mark, [and] over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
1Cr 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Phl 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
In conclusion, as I write this I just have to say that I am excited and full of the joy of the Lord. I love the word so much,
and my life has been so turned around by it, as it just burns in my heart. I know I am full of my subject and have to get
it out. This has always been my burden, to get out the Word in whatever form I can.
The Word of God will never fail. I know I haven't arrived yet, but at least I am on the train and have left! That's the important
thing too, as well as making sUre you are on the RIGHT train headed for the RIGHT destination! There may be many stops you
have to make on the way, on your journey, and you may even decide to get off the train and explore around the countryside
a bit to take in some of the scenery, and share some of His Wonderful words with the local people who are around as we have
a chat.
But you can't forget to get back on that train, and get moving again. The engineer of the train has a schedule to keep, and
so when the conductor calls you back on the train,"all aboard" , you need to get back on and keep going down that one way
track.
I have changed trains and am now headed on a one way track. That track keeps a rolling on ahead and occasionally I pass a
junction where the train goes off into another direction, up a mountain and around a bend, but still moving ahead towards
the destination of a closer more intimate relationship with God, and greater revelation knowledge of His wonderful Word, and
greater wisdom as to the daily application of it.
The Holy Spirit is at the stick, blowing the whistle and keeping the train on the right track, and on the schedule of God's
over all time table. The power of God causes the locomotive of the Spirit to move fast and steadily into the territory that
is up ahead knowing full well what awaits us, and how to handle the few obstacles and problems we may encounter on the way.
Because it is God's train, the train of VICTORY, and it is moving on despite minute problems and even attacks of the evil
one. His fiery darts cannot even begin to prick it. If he insists on getting in the way he just gets run over and flattened!
I have decided to follow Jesus, and can't look back now. We are headed up, up, up and away from the discouragements of this
world. Away from the defeats. Away from the inferior words of man's wisdom ever towards the superior Word's and Thoughts of
God. And the way God thinks is the best we could ever think, and that is best for us.
I have made the move away from the unrealistic doctrines and traditions of man and religion. Unrealistic Biblical interpretations,
and false assumptions, labeling them as another principality in the list of spiritual forces we must fight against with the
truth of God.
I have attacked strongholds of the enemy, mind sets that kept me under bondage for many years, thinking that I would be put
on the scrap heap of God. God doesn't put anyone on the scrap heap, and He loves, thats all He does is love us.
It is this love of God that has to become a reality in one's life before you can accept any good thing from the Lord. There
are many things, trouble, sicknesses, poverty and afflictions that are taught in religion that they are from God and you
have to accept them, and most Christians do not have any trouble accepting those things as from God.
However, the truth is, those things are NOT from God, but love, joy, peace, health, well being, prosperity, and fruitfulness
ARE from God and yet these are the things that seem to be the hardest for Christians to accept and receive from God.
Why would anyone want to live in a world that is constantly under an Anti-Christ take over mentality? The Anti-Christs have
already had their chance to rule the world, and have failed. Now more anti-christs and false prophets are making one last
ditch attempt to bring the world into submission with technology, magic, sorcery, astrology, pornography, Satanic music,
war, propaganda, economics, religion, education, and materialism.
They will not bring the world into submission, but will bring it down with them, and all those who follow after their pernicious
ways. Do not be afraid of these impostors of the good. Fakers and liars who deceive and bring into a snare and a trap. The
Bible says in Psalms 37, that they shall soon be "cut down as the grass" God has a might big lawn mower! "and wither as the
green herb" They will dry up and wither like old brown dry grass that gets burnt up in the fall.
Do not be afraid of Anti-christs, even though there are many out there. Just stay on that train and keep rolling down that
track for Jesus and you will run right over them. Their power has been stripped when Satan lost the big war in the heavens,
after Jesus was crucified and resurrected. They LOST! Satan was stripped of his power and paraded "being made a spectacle"
for the whole world to see his defeat!
What you see happening in the ungodly world today , and the ungodly horrible things you see are the results of what man can
do when he listens to the voice of Satan and obeys, and goes his way in rebellion against God. It is not Satan's power, it
is the power of man himself that he has given over to Satan, in order to get Satan's thoughts and put them into application
in the earth.
There is nothing Satan can do of himself unless he is working with humans who are cooperating with him and agreeing with him,
and that is the only pace Satan can get power over people is through the people themselves allowing him access to their
minds, hearts and emotions, in order to influence their choices.
