More on The Holy Spirit Part Two: The Counterfeit and the Real Thing
I have gathered here different Bible verses that express the promises of God as regards to Him pouring out His Spirit on His
people in the last days, and the effects of that. We are interested here in showing the true nature of the Holy Spirit and
the true spiritual gifts that come with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, as opposed to mere psychic power of the devil.
I have tried to list the differences in my article entitled, " The True Nature of the Holy Spirit" between the real authentic
power of the Holy Spirit and the counterfeit. The best way to expose a counterfeit dollar bill is to know what the real thing
looks like.
The people who are involved in distinguishing real money from fake money first of all study the real thing and get to know
it so well that they can spot a counterfeit bill immediately.
So it is with the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. Once you know the real deal, you can spot the counterfeit a mile away.
Once you have seen what the real power of the Holy Spirit can do with a person's life, there will be no doubt in your mind
as to the difference in the true nature of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is given, like all gifts of God, out of His love for us. God is love, and whatever He gives us it is out of
love for us. God doesn't take any gifts away from you. If you ever had a gift of the Holy Spirit, you still have it no matter
what.
Perhaps you just haven't been using it. Maybe because your allowed your relationship with the Lord to weaken, and faith to
wane, it has just been dormant in you.
If you discover that is the case, then a simple but sincere prayer of repentance and turn around is all you need to get the
Holy Spirit working and flowing in your life once again. Whatever you have been doing that has caused you to lose the blessing
of God and the manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit in your life, stop it and do a U-turn.
If you have been involved in the occult, any of the activities I listed that are related to curious arts, that is making an
agreement with the devil, and will not only cause the removal of the blessings of God in your life, but will cause the curses
to manifest instead.
Curses are merely the fruit of having fellowship with devils, instead of God. Curses are the results of going after other
gods, as Israel did, and as many Christians do today.
Many ungodly things and habits can manifest in someone's life. Some of them are obvious, and some are of a more subtle type
of nature.
What familiar spirits and spirits of divination try to do is counterfeit the voice and manifestations of the Holy Spirit,
to get you to give worship to THEM instead of God. This is what Satan tried to get Jesus to do. Mat 4.
These spirits are an occult fake representation of the Holy Spirit, and can manifest in supernatural ways inside the mind,
or in a vision , dream, prophecy, premonition, sudden knowledge about something, a sudden impulse or "inspiration" to do something,
emotions and feelings to where you just feel led to do something without any reason or explanation, words that suddenly come
to you in the day time or night, voices or sounds, or other manifestations that you cannot explain.
Those who are seeking for God's voice in supernatural ways can be easily deceived, for the visions or manifestations they
see will be so convincing that they will take it as from God. These visions or manifestations will not be in harmony with
their life.
For example, take a man who is known to be impatient, angry and short tempered, who treats others badly, not in love and
concern, and is only concerned with building up a following around him but not concerned of the health, safety and welfare
of others, and he has dreams, visions and prophecies of the glorious future.
He and his followers deem these messages to be from God and that this is the voice of God speaking. The life of this man obviously
does not bring forth the fruits of the Holy Spirit, therefore you can conclude that the messages this person receives are
from spiritual sources that are not of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit will only work through someone who is in unity with God, and is bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit in their
life already.
In the case of Paul, who was Saul, when he was Saul and on his way to persecute Christians in Damascus, and met the Lord on
the road, yes it is true that Jesus spoke directly to him, who was not even saved yet, but look at the fruit of that conversation.
(Acts chapter 9)
There is a big difference between someone whose life the Lord directly impacts and there is a radical change so that you never
see Paul going back to persecute Christians again. On the contrary you see him become the greatest evangelist that ever lived,
being responsible for the conversion of much of the Roman Empire of that time.
Now if you can get those kind of results, you can say that God spoke to you. That is the real thing, not a counterfeit.
Occult comes from the word to occlude, which means to hide behind. In the occult, the true power of God is being
imitated by the psychic power of the devil. It is like in Astronomy, when you see a new star in your telescope and call your
friend over to take a look at the natural beauty of the colors and light emanating from it, but when you r friend gets there
and takes a look in the telescope, right at that instant an asteroid shoots in front of it, occluding the true beauty of the
star and all you see is the disappointing light which the asteroid is reflecting from the sun, and not the natural light from
the star.
The asteroid has come in between your star and you, presenting itself as that star, having no real light or power of its own,
but using the light of the sun to give the impression that it has its own light.
The light you are seeing is not the natural colorful light of the star, but merely the light of the sun reflecting off of
the asteroid that is hiding the REAL thing behind it. That is what the occult is like.
It presents itself as the truth and has very close similarities and even characteristics, but in reality, is far from the
truth.
Only someone who is a true astronomer can tell the difference by looking at the nature of the light. They can tell it is a
counterfeit.
Just the same, only people who know the true nature and fruit of the Holy Spirit can tell the difference between supernatural
manifestations that are truly of the Holy Spirit or an imitation, because Satan can also transform himself into an angel of
light and so can his angels!
2Cr 11:13
For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Cr 11:14
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Cr 11:15
Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be
according to their works.
Joe 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
This is the case in many religious organizations and even churches that present themselves as the truth, but have no real
power. They may even have some kind of supernatural manifestations such as fortune telling, speaking with the departed, contacting
angels, seeing visions or dreams, even prophecies, and yes, even healings that seem miraculous, but do not last and there
is no changed life! Things just go on and on as they were before the manifestations without any real change or difference
in the world for good!
We are not supposed to call on any other spiritual entities but the Lord! We are not supposed to pray to any other spirits
but the Holy Spirit! Calling on other spirits or gods is spiritual adultery and idolatry in God's eyes and Israel, in the
Old Testament, was judged for doing just that!
Elijah demonstrated the true power of the true God on Mt. Carmel when he had the prophets of Baal call upon their god to bring
fire down from heaven. They were calling on another spiritual entity other than the Lord.
This is clear that it was spiritual adultery and idolatry that Israel was into, and that they had forsaken the true God.
When it came to the test, their god, Baal, could do nothing! There was no real power there! Only
occult practices!
When Elijah's turn came, it was clear that he was representing the true God. You can read the whole amazing story in 1st Kings
chapter 18!
It is true that if you read and meditate on the Psalms, you can get some very beneficial blessings and effects from them as
they are the Words of God, but you don't need a spiritual entity named King David, a familiar spirit coming through a channel
, to "help you meditate".
How exactly is a spirit going to "help " you meditate except by entering your mind and taking possession of your thinking
faculties, which is the goal of evil spirits, in order to control you and get you to do what THEY want you to do.
That is soooooo different from the way the Holy Spirit influences us. The Holy Spirit does not "possess" us but gently leads,
teaches,
inspires, chides, directing us to the Word of God, manifesting God's power through us in tangible ways that always bring good
results.
The Word of God already instructs us to "meditate" on the Word. We don't need the help of familiar spirits impersonating the
Holy Spirit.
Where angels intervened we are given a look into the spirit world such as in the case of Elisha and the Syrian army in 1st
Kings chapter 6.
2Ki 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the
young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain [was] full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
But these were not lying spirits sent to impersonate the Holy Spirit trying to get into the hearts and minds of God's children.
These were angels, the hosts of the Lord that came for a special purpose. You don't need to know their names!
Our staying close to the Lord has nothing to do with spirits creating force fields around us. Our staying close to the Lord
is dependent upon first knowing Jesus, and accepting Him as our Lord and Savior in a born again experience, then getting filled
and baptized in the Holy Spirit, and knowing the Love of God that passes all understanding that keeps out hearts and minds.
NOT on spiritual entities that want to possess us and create a force field around us. These are un-biblical New Age occult
practices that are common in the New Age movement today and very very dangerous! They have the opposite effect on your heart
and mind and KEEP the
Holy Spirit from accessing your heart and mind through the truth of the Word of God.
I warn you that if you call on these spiritual entities you will be fellowshipping with devils!
NOW LET US SEE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT MEDITATION AND COMPARE THE TWO!
Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest
observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have
good success.
This verse says we should meditate on the Word day and night and then we will have success. Not making our minds blank, like
in yoga and
New Age type of meditation. This GN is promoting New Age religion type of meditation.
Psa 1:2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Again the Word exhorts us to meditate on the Word of God, not just nothing. These also:
Psa 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
Psa 119:23 Princes also did sit [and] speak against me: [but] thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
Psa 119:48 My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.
Psa 119:78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: [but] I will meditate in thy precepts.
Psa 119:148 Mine eyes prevent the [night] watches, that I might meditate in thy word.
Psa 143:5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands
So you see the Word of God is all for meditation, but on the right things. Our meditation has to be on the Word of God or
no telling what spirit you will get! Saul did NOT meditate on the word of the prophet Samuel, from God, and so he disobeyed
and got an evil spirit!
Make sure you are meditation on the right thing, which is the word of God! Meditation on the love of God and understanding
His Love for us is the key to understanding the Word!
Let us not turn from the Bible unto other spirits and and get further and further away from the Holy Spirit and the true Gospel.
Do you need a renewal of your relationship with God? Do you know the Love of the Father? Do you know His unfailing , unconditional
love for you? Is your relationship with God only in paper? Is your relationship with God based on someone else's channel to
the spirit world?
Or do you have your OWN close link with the Holy Spirit hearing from the Lord all day long every day?
Why should you have to depend upon someone else's link to the spirit world, the second heavens , where the disembodied spirits
of rebellious beings swirl around you waiting to take control of your thoughts, emotions and feelings, in order to use your
body, thoughts, voice and other faculties as a vehicle of expression of their fallen nature?
If you desire deliverance of spiritual entities that have invaded your life and usurped the authority of the Holy Spirit in
your walk with the Lord, and are standing in the way of you walking in newness of life in the true freedom of the Holy Spirit,
masquerading as biblical characters and angels of light, which you yourself have allowed access to your mind and faculties,
then please pray this prayer from your heart.
Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I recognize that I have been in fellowship with the occult. I recognize
that the things I have believed and practiced regarding these spirit guides are false and not according to your Word.
I repent of fellowshipping with devils and command them in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to go and leave and depart
from me never again to return.
I command all evil spiritual entities now speaking to me on a regular basis through prophecy , or to my mind, in dreams or
visions to stop this ungodly communication right now!
I renounce every one of you, (by name if possible) and my involvement with you and cancel any witchcraft assignments you have
been given over me right now in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
I repent of my involvement of fellowshipping with , calling upon and listening to these impostors, and pray in the Name of
Jesus for a renewal and revival of the true Holy Spirit of God in my life!
(Also at this time it is good to recognize, repent of and renounce and rebuke any ungodly activities, emotions or actions,
fears, anxieties, anger, envy, strife, resentment, bitterness, any unforgiveness that may exist in your heart, doubt, unbelief
and also ANY other negativity in your life, as these things are the spirits that have been masquerading as good spirits and
have been active in reinforcing each other in your life manifesting as unforgiveness, resentment, hate, bitterness, strife,
fear, unbelief and others .
That is why they like to work together in groups (legion). They can back each other up and reinforce each other. )
I call upon one and only true God, the Father and Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit to renew our relationship. I
believe that Jesus Christ IS come in the flesh, in MY flesh.
(It is important to say IS come and not HAS come. HAS come is history. The devils also believe and tremble, and many people
believe Jesus came, but when you confess that Jesus IS come you are making a declaration of the Savior's presence in YOU right
NOW! And that is what the devils cannot do. They cannot truly say that Jesus Christ IS come in them, because you have to repent
for that to happen and they cannot repent because they are already judged.
I call upon the Holy Spirit of God to revive and well up inside of me. Forgive me . Lord for my involvement in any other spirits
but your Holy Spirit and the help I may receive from your angels and I make a vow to renounce them forever and I cancel their
hold on me and my mind.
I rebuke all and any ungodly mindsets that have led me astray and I receive your unconditional love and grace and forgiveness
right now.
I know that the blood of Jesus cleanses me from all sin. All past , present and future sin. I know I am not
delivered by my own good works, but by your power only! In Jesus name!
I thank you , Father , for your mercy and deliverance from all of these evil spirits "and deliver us from evil" and for your
love and grace. Help me to learn more about your love and what you have already done for me.
In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
You don't have to say those exact words, but you get the main idea I hope, that we can't pussy foot around with the destroyer
who is out to only destroy and kill. He will stoop to anything to deceive and win over converts to his cause!
His persuasions can be so Satanically convincing and you are so easy if you don't know the Word.
We have the power to command them in Jesus name to be cast out and go to their dry place. The angels
fight for us , yes, only when we have done all we can do and take the authority of the Word, and then we can command the angels
to fight for us.
That is after we know we have done our part and realized, recognized, repented, rebuked, renounced,
renewed our minds, thanked the Lord , and go out to restore others to.
Believers have to know too how to recover themselves out of the snare of the devil.
2Ti 2:26 And [that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
May God bless you as you seek and call upon HIM to deliver you out of all your troubles. He loves you unconditionally, not
because of your performance, or what you can do for Him, but He loves you because He IS love.
May you too learn what is the height and breadth, and deepness of His love. Let the word of God dwell in your heart richly
and let it come alive in your life like never before. It is never too late!
